The troubling thing is that some people still believe that Allasane
Ouattara's nationality is relevant to the issue at all. It is not a
matter of who Allasane Ouattara is, but rather of whether the people of
the Ivory Coast are going to let unscrupulous and greedy individuals
exploit ethnic divergences to divide, rule and ruthlessly exploit their
brothers. Let them not let people like you split them because real
Ivorians know that they have one important thing in common : they want a
peaceful life, not a flawed vision of ethnic purity that brings nothing
but tears and bloodshed, not only unto those frustrated enough to
believe in that mirage, but also unto others who did not ask for
anything but peace.

I am not an Ivorian, but the reason I take part in this debate is that
it pains me to witness such reckless behavior as this encouragement to
ethnic hatred. And it pains me even more to see that some people fall to
this trap. That's why I thought necessary to answer your provocation.
